What is polyester cotton blend fabric? Polyester cotton blended fabric, commonly known as "cotton blended fabric", is currently the most commonly used cotton type blended fabric. The relationship between fabric properties and blending ratio is that if cotton is blended with high-strength low elongation polyester, the fabric strength increases with the increase of polyester content. If cotton is blended with low strength and high elongation polyester, the relationship curve between the strength of the blended fabric and the blending ratio has a concave shape. The polyester content must be greater than 50% to make the fabric stronger than pure cotton fabric. For example, when the polyester content is 65010, the breaking strength of the blended fabric is about 30% higher than that of pure cotton fabric. The wear resistance of blended fabrics increases with the increase of polyester content, especially when low strength and high elongation polyester fibers are blended with cotton, the wear resistance of the fabric is significantly improved. When mixed with 65%, the wear resistance of the fabric can be increased by more than twice compared to pure cotton fabric, and the wrinkle resistance, shrinkage, and pleat retention of the fabric are significantly improved with the addition of polyester. However, in terms of moisture absorption, anti melt hole resistance, stain resistance, and the appearance and feel of cotton type, they decrease with the increase of polyester content.
Based on the comprehensive properties of blended fabrics and the spinnability of blended yarns, 65% polyester and 35% cotton fibers are generally used for blending in China. Of course, if emphasizing the comfort of blended fabrics, low gluten polyester and cotton blends can also be used.
